چکیده

DEFINITION 1.1. A fuzzy variable is characterized by a triple (X, U, R (X;u)). in which X is the name of the variable; U is a universe of discourse (finite or infinite set); u is a generic name for the elements of U; and R(X;u) is a fuzzy subset of U which represents a fuzzy restriction on the values of u imposed by X. [As in the case of nonfuzzy variables, R(X;u) will usually be abbreviated to R(X) or R(u) or R(x), where x denotes a generic name for the values of X, and R(X;u) will be referred to as the restriction on u or the restriction imposed by X.1 The nonrestricted nonfuzzy variable u constitutes the base variable for X. The assignment equation for X has the form

The concept of a linguistic variable and its application to approximate reasoning - I

By a linguistic variable we mean a variable whose values are words or sentences in a natural or artificial language. I:or example, Age is a linguistic variable if its values are linguistic rather than numerical, i.e., young, not young, very young, quite young, old, not very oldand not very young, etc., rather than 20, 21, 22, 23, In more specific terms, a linguistic variable is characterized by...

Arithmetic Aggregation Operators for Interval-valued Intuitionistic Linguistic Variables and Application to Multi-attribute Group Decision Making

The intuitionistic linguistic set (ILS) is an extension of linguisitc variable. To overcome the drawback of using single real number to represent membership degree and non-membership degree for ILS, the concept of interval-valued intuitionistic linguistic set (IVILS) is introduced through representing the membership degree and non-membership degree with intervals for ILS in this paper. The oper...

Bourdieu and Genette in Paratext: How Sociology Counts in Linguistic Reasoning

While Bourdieu’s theory of practice provides an ensemble of conceptual tools which analyze patterns of social life that are irreducible to the limiting view of individuals as free-acting agents, Genette’s paratextual theory offers the metalanguage necessary to account for the microcosm of paratext as a linguistic space. This study takes issue with unidirectional approaches to researching parate...

A fuzzy reasoning method based on compensating operation and its application to fuzzy systems

In this paper, we present a new fuzzy reasoning method based on the compensating fuzzy reasoning (CFR). Its basicidea is to obtain a new fuzzy reasoning result by moving and deforming the consequent fuzzy set on the basis of themoving, deformation, and moving-deformation operations between the antecedent fuzzy set and observation information.Experimental results on real-world data sets show tha...

FUZZY LOGISTIC REGRESSION: A NEW POSSIBILISTIC MODEL AND ITS APPLICATION IN CLINICAL VAGUE STATUS

Logistic regression models are frequently used in clinicalresearch and particularly for modeling disease status and patientsurvival. In practice, clinical studies have several limitationsFor instance, in the study of rare diseases or due ethical considerations, we can only have small sample sizes. In addition, the lack of suitable andadvanced measuring instruments lead to non-precise observatio...
